Load management
Shared-power systems spread available capacity across several ports, often avoiding a new service.
Tenants, staff or customers asking for charging? Get Level 2 stations sized to your building's service and parking layout.
Commercial EV charger installation starts with three questions: who will use it, how long they park, and how much capacity the building has to spare. Employees parked all day need a different setup than customers parked for an hour.
We look at the service, the switchgear and the path from the electrical room to the parking, then lay out how many Level 2 ports fit now and how the site can grow later.
Property owners who also need charging at home can see our residential EV charging services.

Network-connected units can bill drivers, limit access to tenants or staff, and report usage.
Surface lots often need conduit run under pavement. Route planning keeps concrete and asphalt work to a minimum.
Garages usually take wall units; open lots usually need pedestals with bollard protection.
In garages, the main challenges are distance from the electrical room, routing along structure and protecting equipment from vehicles. In surface lots, it's getting conduit under pavement and placing pedestals where cables reach without blocking drive aisles.
Where accessible parking is required, Chicago's EV-ready rules call for at least one EV space to be accessible. We lay that space out with the charger reachable from the access aisle.
We plan for the next phase too, so adding ports later means pulling wire, not tearing up the lot again.
Chicago's EV-readiness rules apply to new off-street parking. For projects whose first building permit application was started on or after November 1, 2023, 20% of new nonresidential parking spaces must be EV-ready or have chargers installed.
ComEd also offers a business and public sector make-ready rebate that helps cover the cost of getting a site ready for charging, with about $29 million set aside for 2026. Eligibility and amounts change, so check ComEd's current terms before you budget.
We'll match the plan to the code requirements that apply to your site and give you a commercial EV charger installation scope you can use for rebate applications.
We plan and install commercial charging across Chicago and nearby suburbs.

It depends on your service size, existing loads and whether the chargers use load management. A load study gives the real number.
Yes. New residential parking must be fully EV-ready, and 20% of new nonresidential spaces must be EV-ready or have chargers, for projects started on or after November 1, 2023.
Networked chargers make billing simple. Many workplaces cover charging costs for staff, while multifamily and retail sites often charge by the hour or kilowatt-hour.
ComEd's make-ready rebate helps businesses and public agencies with site-preparation costs. Check its current eligibility rules before you apply.
Tell us about the building, the parking and who will use the chargers. We'll start with the electrical capacity and build the plan from there.
